1860s English Staffordshire Statue of Fishmonger
Staffordshire flatback figures were ornaments to adorn fireplace mantlepieces, which were slim enough to sit on the narrowest shelf. Earthenware, press molded figure, painted in multicolor glazes and sets on oval gilt lined base.
This Staffordshire figure of fishmonger is in good condition, with worn gilt decoration. No chips, cracks or restorations.
