VINTAGE WWII RATION TOKEN ONE OPA RED POINT MARKED UY
The item shown is a World War II-era OPA (Office of Price Administration) red point ration token. These tokens were used as change for ration stamps during the war.
Red tokens were primarily used for meats and fats.
The value of each token was one point.
The letters "UY” are believed to be random and may have been for preventing counterfeiting.
These tokens are made of vulcanized fiber (celluloid) and are 16 mm in size.
They were issued from 1944 to 1945.
