They have a broad, outwardly flared rim, flanking acanthus side handles, and a bulbous lower body. Urn sits atop a stepped square plinth, with a fluted neck. These types of planters became popular during Georgian and Victorian periods where they were used in formal gardens and estates. Urns/Planters are painted black and have a wonderful weathered patina that adds charm and authenticity. Today they are commonly seen flanking entryways, garden paths, or gates; they can be used indoors in Eclectic or European-inspired interiors. See less
