A beautiful pair of 19th-century hand-colored botanical engravings depicting geraniums, presented in elegant gilt frames.
These detailed copperplate engravings date to the mid-1840s and were originally published as part of a larger botanical reference collection. Each engraving has been delicately hand colored, resulting in vibrant tones that have remained remarkably rich over time.
One engraving is marked “Floracultural Cabinet 1843.”
The other references Lyne’s Hesperus botanical publication.
The prints are mounted within double mats featuring hand-painted detailing and gold edging, and housed in classic gilt frames with beaded trim that beautifully complement the Victorian botanical aesthetic.
