The vessel is covered in ornate and geometric detail from mouth down to its rounded bottom. Pots of this sort were designed to rest on the ground and are often described as "gourd-shaped." There are signs of use, but save for a chip at the mouth, the form of the pot is nearly pristine. This piece was previously held in the Friedman collection. It likes come from the first to middle of the twentieth century. Rough dimensions are 42.5" around, 17.5" tall, and 12" across. Stand not included. See less
