In 1981 while choosing subjects from Hollywood films or 1950's television, Warhol created The Mickey Mouse Series. This fantasy figure from childhood, a quintessential American image, is a typical Warhol icon. With The Mickey Mouse Series, Warhol worked in a highly stylized manner. using an innovative photo silkscreen technique, bright color combinations and repeated images.
