It is a work by the famed French Belle Epoque artist, Henri Boutet (1851-1919). It origianally came from an unbound portfolio of Boutet's works. It in NOT a recent reproduction print. It is an illustrative etching that celebrates "La Fete de FLeurs". Boutet is well known worldwide for his etching, drypoint and engraving techniques. His work can be found in private collections, galleries, and museums worldwide including the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Boutet is best known for his paintings and drawings of the Parisienne. Known for his meticulous attention to detail, Boutet captured the feminity and youthfulness of Parisian women. He captured their beauty, their grace, and their elegance. This illustration features two women working with flowers. Note their floral arrangements in baskets and hat designs.
