Circa 1920s I have Been Dealing … Read more This is a Absolutely Beautiful and Quite Rare Antique American Cast Iron Door Knocker. Circa 1920s I have Been Dealing in Cast Iron Collectables for Many Years and I have Never Seen this Particular Butterfly Model. This is a Smaller Size Door Knocker Measuring 3 5/8 inches Tall x inches Tall x 2 5/8 inches Long x 1 1/2 inches Wide. Note that These Smaller Size Knockers were Actually Also Sold to be Used on on Interior Doors. It is Rendered in a Figurative Butterfly and Rose Flower Bush Motif. It has Very Good Detail in the Castings.
In Addition it has Exceptionally Nice Hand Oil Painted Features Displaying Wonderful Color Combinations. It has No Maker Mark - Definitely Not a Hubley Made - Possibly Made by the National Foundry. NOTE Also that the Back is Marked Patent Applied For so it was Produced Before it Retained a Patent Number. It is in Excellent All Original Condition - Possibly Never Used - Displays Beautifully. No Damage. It Can Easily be Attached to The Door with 2 Wood Screws. By the Way Did You Known that These Smaller Size Door Knockers were Also Used Inside the House on Interior Doors.

It Measures 3 5/8 inches Tall x 2 5/8 inches Long x 1 1/2 inches Wide - Deep.
