Maurice Bouval (France, 1863-1916) bronze writing set, circa 1900. Gilded, partially patinated. Wide base plate, flared at the front, on volute feet with leaf relief attachments. Laterally, rounded attachments for ink and sand with hinged lids and laurel relief. In the center, a sculpture of a woman draped in cloth, sitting pondering among autumn leaves on a pedestal. Below, a plaque with "Scripta Manent Verba Volant." Signed by the artist and stamped by the foundry.
