It is made of solid burlwood with a … Read more Beautifully crafted antique English writing box from the turn of the century. It is made of solid burlwood with a mother-of-pearl top inlay, blue velvet lining, a lock and key on a tassel. The key seems to fit the lock, but the lock is not working. It has several compartments, two with lids, and a removable top tray. A pin on the right lifts and lets a lower tray out from the bottom. This tray is lined in blue silk and does have a small tear. There is a brass emblem on the front with a monogram that looks like 'DB.' An incredible piece of history and craftmanship that offers much function and beauty.

Closed dimensions are 12" wide x 8-3/4" deep x 6-3/4" high. See less
