Stunning Example of a Ladies Silk Lined Casket containing its original contents of Sterling Silver mounted Silk lined Tortoiseshell Card Cases of museum quality. Slightly dome shaped rectangular hinged covers, each with shaped silver cartouche which reads “Presented to M Davies” and dated 1837.
Condition: Good condition for such an early piece of contents, possibly never used with no losses anywhere, nice surface patination to each case all of which close firmly including the main casket. The outer main box is of used appearance. No Sterling Hallmarks, when tested they are Sterling Silver.
Width: (casket) 7.5" (18.5cm). Depth: 7” (18cm). Height: 1.5” (4cm).
