An oversized studio pottery vase by the American ceramic artist Alex Hazlett (1949-2023). This ovoid vase stands almost 16 inches tall and is predominantly beige with a whimsical landscape of green, pink, and orange on the exterior. Some firefly-like shapes curl around the mouth of the vase and flow with the waves of the landscape. The vase is unsigned.
Alec Hazlett was an American artist who received an MFA at the School for American Crafts at RIT in 1972. He taught and mentored many ceramicists through the Creative Workshop of the Memorial Art Gallery.
