The form … Read more Design Plus Gallery presents the Studio Series Wall Sconce by Chuck Moffit, Commissioned from Coup D'Etat San Francisco. The form of functional art sconce is constructed with bronze and patinated steel with a pongee silk shade (raw silk). Crafted from lost foam casting. Lost foam casting is a process where molten metal is used to replace a foam pattern. The foam pattern is coated with a refractory material and then surrounded by sand, which forms a mold. When the molten metal is poured in, the foam evaporates, creating a cavity where the metal will solidify. Of the edition of 50, this is number 7 made in 2017 as shown on signature brass plate. In good condition, minimal wear from usage. Made in USA.
