A mid-century modern painting that features a dreamlike coastal landscape, defined by its geometric abstractions and surreal composition, executed in oil onto board and dated 1948.

The dominant visual motif consists of overlapping, translucent arch shapes that rise from a calm blue sea, reminiscent of towering, otherworldly rock formations or monumental arches. In the background, stylised islands emerge, silhouetted against a deep blue sky. A small, solitary boat in the foreground adds a human element, emphasising the scale and solitude of the scene.
