Lovely Murano sommerso shell-shaped bowl designed by Flavio Poli for Seguso (Italy, 1960s). Thick and heavy hand blown glass. Amazing and rare colours. Perfectly works as a small bowl, vide poche/catch-all or as an ashtray.
Width: 14.5 cm/5.7’’; depth: 14 cm/5.5’’; height: 5.5 cm/2.2''. Excellent vintage condition. No chips, no cracks. Usual scratches at the bottom.
''Sommerso'' is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s/60s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly caused by a clear layer. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
