An elegant aluminium bonbon box made in Austria in the 1910s. The piece has a rectangular form with a matching removable lid. Its entire surface is richly decorated with a rhythmic embossed pattern of stylized pyramid-like studs, characteristic of late Art Nouveau design with an early Art Deco transition.
Made of pressed aluminium, the box is lightweight yet structurally solid and stable. The interior is also worked in the same manner, reflecting a functional but decorative approach to design. The soft metallic patina enhances the age and authenticity of the piece.
Objects of this type were popular as decorative table accessories or gift boxes for bonbons and small sweets, and today they make an attractive collector’s piece as well as a distinctive decorative accent in Art Nouveau, Art Deco, or modernist interiors.
