Typically when I have Dorothy Thorpe sets, it's Dorothy Thorpe style, not the actual real deal. Because so little of her actual pieces survived. The ACTUAL Dorothy Thorpe pieces weren't silver paint or foil. They were hand applied silver on glass. Don't ask me how to do that- I have no idea. I love art and chemistry, but that's a mix that seems nearly impossible. The real deal has to either be polished regularly, kept in a sealed cupboard to keep from tarnishing- or get deeply, nearly black tarnished. This set is clearly massively tarnished. I've only come across one other set - and, well. Keepsies. These I will sell. I recommend using a jewelers cloth to clean and prevent tarnish. I didn't clean off the tarnish now because it's a seeing is believing situation. Without the tarnish, where's the proof? Also I need a new cloth. It's on my list.
