Decorative figure and for good luck and protection of the home. The Leather shows a beautiful patina, and there is no damage anywhere. It is probably the largest available with over four feet tall and 50" long.
This a great example of a mid-20th century, c. 1950's, Elephant sculpture. The elephant has been eloquently detailed with all of his wondrous wrinkles and glass eyes. The leather ears are a bit stiff, but remain in good condition. The original faux ivory tusks are present and no significant alterations or repairs have been made. It shows a Nice natural patina of this blessings-bearing beast.
