The hand-thrown porcelain plate features a scalloped mouth and is decorated with overglaze and underglaze cobalt in a design that includes a cherry tree in bloom, chrysanthemums, geometric patterns, fabric designs, a phoenix, and a small butterfly. Gilding has been applied extensively in the design and along the rim.

The back of the plate has some cobalt paintings. The plate has a shallow, unglazed foot. The base is glazed, and you can see the potter's ring marks under the glaze.

MEASUREMENTS
9 ½ in (24.1 cm) diameter x 1 3/8 in (3.4 cm) deep. Weighs 1 lb 0.5 oz.

CONDITION
There are no breaks, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. There is one tiny rim and two small ones on the foot. There is very little wear and the glazes are bright and colorful. The gilding is in good condition except for along mouth rim, where it is worn. There are a few typical kiln flaws, such as black spots, pimples, and bumps.
