(paper) 30.00 cm. x 30.00 cm. 11.81 in. x 11.81 in. (image) In this minimalist etching, Seiko Tachibana weaves invisible links between the infinitely small and the infinitely large. The fine, almost ephemeral lines seem to hang like threads of fate, linking mysterious spheres floating in silent space. The title, Fractal, suggests a repetition of patterns on different scales, recalling the structure of natural forms found in the branches of a tree, the veins of a leaf or the networks of a nervous system. These patterns replicate each other, each element appearing to be both unique and part of a larger whole. The contrast of black, grey and gold circles creates a subtle harmony, evoking the fragile balance between opposing forces: the visible and the invisible, matter and energy, nature and technology.
