Offering a pair of 1960s gold leafed (gilded) plaster pineapple bookends, both signed Borghese with their original labels. These gorgeous Italian bookends have a rich finish and are in amazing vintage condition considering their age. The back of the bookends are painted sage green which is original to the bookends. Some minor paint missing in areas.
The entire pineapple and leaf structure rests upon a solid rectangular plinth connected to a metal protrusion to provide a stable foundation for holding books. Their opulent gold finish and classical pineapple design would add a touch of traditional elegance and sophistication to any bookshelf or display surface.
