A modernist cast paper with three dimensional details by Paul Maxwell. Hand signed in pencil on the lower right with an annotation of 66/75 on the lower left. Circa 1980s. A minimalist composition of circular forms in neutral tones. Simplistic overall yet the unique textural forms create a unique statement. From a private collection. Dimensions: 32"h x 44.5"w x 1.5"d (framed). In very good vintage condition.
Paul Maxwell (1925-2015) has been widely exhibited throughout North America, Europe, Australia and Asia, and is represented in numerous art collections, public and private. Maxwell has had numerous exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout the United States, Europe, Canada and Australia. Maxwell taught at the Houston Museum of Art (Texas) and at the University of Houston (1955-1958).
