The stone is either a Jade or Soapstone, and was often used for ink in Calligraphy and Art, or for signing Documents, and other important items in Chinese Culture. This particular box has faces carved out on each corresponding corners. From a Palm Beach Island, Florida Estate. In great condition. The divided interior has been lined. Original sticker affixed to base bottom, from an Asian Antique Store in Manhattan, NYC. See less
