The front is mahogany veneer over pine and the sides are pine. This was a cost effective way of owning a "better" item but not for full price. Beautiful wood on the slant front lid. Nice swirl to the mahogany on the left. As you can see there is a triangular shaped veneer repair to the bottom right corner of the lid. Nice fitted interior with cubby holes over 6 drawers. The top center drawer has been replaced. Drawers have hand dovetailed construction. If you look at pictures 5 and 6 you can see how the secondary wood moved under the veneer. This is along the breadboard ends of the lid. The veneer is tight. There has been restoration to the feet as well. Desk is in good condition for a piece 250+ years old and ready to place and use. Desk was recently refinished. Its also a great smallish size. Desk is 35 3/4" wide and stands 40 1/4" tall and is 19" deep. The writing height is exactly what it should be at 30". See less
