"\.from 1947 until 1955, Sassu's most fruitful period developed both for ceramics in general and more particularly for sculpture. He revealed himself to be an exceptional worker. There were many hundreds of decorative works that he painted for the Mazzotti kilns and certainly, in this field, he carried out a decisive renewal of taste, unleashing his creativity in dense sequences of images taken from his own repertoire with surprising freshness. Sassu remembers having worked as a worker, in those months: he painted plates, vases, tiles, complete services of a hundred or more pieces, in those years there was only one living and burning reality in Albisola, first in the heart and in the form: the - great fire - of art, of poetry, kept alive by creativity and humility, by the pride and awareness of carrying out the work with the same skill as the artisans, and with the same seriousness".
