Pair of hans wegner ge-290 armchairs in teak wood. Experience the allure of scandinavian modern design with the hans wegner ge 290, an iconic vintage chair designed by the legendary danish designer, hans j. Wegner. This early edition of the so-called plank chair, model ge-290 was manufactured during the 1950s. Hans j. Wegner designed this easy chair in 1953 for the traditional furniture manufacture getama, located in gedsted, denmark. This vintage chair showcases the timeless elegance and masterful craftsmanship that has made wegner an influential force in the midcentury design movement.
collectible: the high-quality chair is in all original condition. The multicolored fabric is the original cover. This early edition chair features a solid teak wood frame, beautifully displaying the natural grain of the wood. The frame is supported by high-quality elastic metal spiral belts, a hallmark of craftsmanship from the 1950s. The two heavy cushions have inner metal springs and metal reinforcements along the edges, ensuring both comfort and form stability. The original multicolored fabric cover from the 1950s adds a touch of bohemian flair to the chair, making it a unique and timeless addition to any interior.
