This is a stunning, signed and emblazoned with a brass plaque on the frame by Heinz Pinggera who did sumptuous and realistic paintings of nobility, and this one is title " Shakespeare Am Hofe Der Konigin Elisabeth" which translates to Shakespeare at the Queen's court" and is impeccably detailed and absolutely monstrous in size. The frame is done in genuine gold leaf and the painting shows numerous nobleman and noblewomen watching Shakespeare perform. This is a masterpiece.
Measures 84.75 wide x 57.5 tall x 5 inches thick. Dates to the 1920-30s era.
