This fine … Read more A beautiful stone set Victorian Gothic Revival silver-gilt chalice. By Carl Christopher Krall (1844-1923) Hallmarked for London 1892.

This fine chalice Rises on a scalloped hexafoil base with a diaper border and chased foliate decoration above, leading to a heavily chased knop with intricate detail and hardstone cabochon border, with hemispherical bowl.

Carl Christopher Krall was a German silversmith, who created almost exclusively religious items. Krall traded from Regent Street, London.

Chalice in very good condition, showing light marks to the gilding and a small area of rubbing loss to part of the chased foliage. Some light rubbing to the hallmarks. The underside of the bowl shows minimal opening to the stem.
