Gorgeous pair of large 16.125” pewter candlesticks by Architect Richard Muller for K.M.Seifert, circa 1900.
Heavy, elegant and architectural. Circular lobed base of each is pierced at the center and spirals into three clean lined stems. At the top, each stem bifurcates and joins again to form a calyx containing the bobeche holder. The tops of the stems are riveted to the candleholder.
Very substantial pieces, measuring
7.125” dia x 16.125”h.
This gorgeous set in brass resides in the British Museum.
Architect Richard Muller designed candlesticks and lamps for the metalwork firm K. M . Seifert & Co. in Dresden, Germany in the late 19th and early 20th century.
Great antique condition. Pewter patina has some small marks, particularly on bases, as shown.
