A wonderful early 19th century coach wooden passenger seat / foot warmer / foot stool with white floral upholstery, nailhead trim, to the front a small brass carrying handle is attached to the square solid mahogany box shaped warmer, opening to reveal original metal tank inset, all rising on short, stubby tapered legs.
This tank would be taken out and filled with hot water and replaced back into the box, the passenger would then whilst journeying have either a warm seat or feet for the journey ahead.
This coach passenger warmer is in very good condition, having rich antique mahogany wood color and tone, elegantly aged patina and signs of wear from its past life and the obvious usage it’s had. It would make an excellent addition to any early coach travel collections and it makes for an excellent decorative item.
