With the onset of trade agreements between Japan and the Western World in 1853, a keen interest in Japanese design motifs emerged after the 200+ year void. France sought Japanese styles in fabrics and silks and the Japanese influence continued to be a major influence in the Art Deco movement. This fabric design is one of a grouping we purchased in Paris showcasing the Japanese motifs. The lithograph is in excellent condition with rich natural color tones and beautiful depth of textural quality. 8 x 10.5 inches. See companion lithographs in our shop. See less
