With the onset of trade agreements between Japan and the Western World in 1853, a keen interest in Japanese design motifs emerged after the 200+ year void. France sought Japanese styles in fabrics and silks, and the Japanese influence continued to be a major influence in the Art Deco movement. This fabric design is one of a grouping we purchased in Paris showcasing the Japanese motifs. The lithograph is in excellent condition with rich natural color tones and beautiful depth of textural quality. Note the gold color is an unusual metallic ink. 7 x 9.5 inches; comes matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 custom mat ready for a standard size frame. See companion lithographs in our shop. See less
