Raised on hand carved intertwined mythical beasts, the bronze gong being on a shaped plinth with ball and claw feet.

The bronze gong shows lovely patination and hand-beaten charm, and is stamped Burmese. The metal gong itself would have been imported from Asia by UK furniture manufacturers at the time. The striker is a later replacement to match, and the leather holding the gong has also been replaced.

The stand is very sturdy with no loose joints. There is a small historic damage to a scrolled area, please refer to photograph number 13. The underside looks like it has had metal brackets added to strengthen the feet. See less
