From Limoges France, a hand enameled trinket box, depicting the head of a French Gendarme or police officer, circa 1970-1980s.
Gendarmes boxes are highly sought after by collectors.
The office wears the cobalt blue hat with gilded detailing, specific to the guards. He also sports the stereotypical mustache.
Copper metal is used for bracing the box and also makes up the visor of the guards hat.
