Introducing a drop-leaf dining table designed by the influential Kipp Stewart for Drexel's lauded Declaration Line in the late 1960's. Constructed from a mix of solid and veneered American black walnut this versatile table can easily extend to full width of 40.5" x the static depth of 60". Condensing down to a width of only 17.5" when not in use this splendid table is ideal for those who are limited on space but unwilling to compromise on style and functionality.
Kipp Stewart, who recently passed in 2022, is an American Icon who's work as a furniture designer, artist and architect has been widely respected and venerated throughout the US and abroad. After working with the renowned industrial designers Charles and Bernice “Ray” Eames, Stewart went on to design furniture of a mid-century modern aesthetic for Drexel Heritage out of North Carolina, Directional Furniture through the Modernage Company in New York, and Summit Furniture of Monterey.
The Drexel Furniture Co. began over a hundred years ago in Hickory, North Carolina with a single product and a simple vision. The product was a made-to-order dining chair. In the decades since, their product range has evolved into an assortment of timeless designs, drawn from significant periods and places, and from the talents of some of the world's most respected designers such as the aforementioned Kipp Stewart. Drexel is still producing pieces to this day with much reverence given to their craftsmanship and use of natural materials.
With it's ability to expand with the flick of a wrist, petite footprint, and timeless Mid-Century design this table is ideal for collectors and designers alike. In 100% original, vintage condition this table is perfect as is or restored by our team of craftsmen and carpenters. Either way, make it yours today!

The mix of solid and veneered American black walnut composition does show signs of vintage wear such as scratches, veneer chips and minor areas of discoloration (all of which can be seen in the detail photos and natural light video provided). With that said the wood is in overall very good shape. As purists we strive to keep our pieces in as original condition as possible. This versatile table is ultra-functional, structurally solid and ready for decades more of use as is. Please view all photos and video for details on this drop-leaf's current condition. We're limited on the amount of media we can post so additional photos and videos are available upon request. The two drop leaves open and close with ease and stay locked in place via four locking hinges that all function exactly as designed. less
