Antique Chinese hand decorated trapezoid shaped "Dragon Box' with original iron fittings. Late Qing Dynasty.
The Antiquities dept. of Chinese Exports red wax seal is found inside the box on the lid. What remains of the seal reads 'customs permission'.
Three large stippled dragon faces, stylised clouds and large lotus flowers decorate the box whilst golden peonies or chrysanthemums, the back and top. A highly decorative box or storage chest.
Minor signs of wear as expected to the 'raised decoration'.
Late 19th. C/Early 20th. Century.
A handy piece to have around the home with plenty of storage capacity. Super decorators piece for interior design projects.
