"And Search for Peace" - Rare Signed Figurative Lithograph in Ink on Paper
Bold lithograph by Eugene Hawkins (American, b. 1933). Rendered in a semi-abstracted style, a young, black boy holds out his arm for a dove, the symbol of peace to land.

Eugene Hawkins (American, b. 1933) is a BIPOC artist known for his detailed portraiture and printmaking. He is listed in Who Was Who in American Art, 1564-1975 and his work was exhibited in the Whitney Museum of American Art. He spent the majority of his life working and exhibiting in Southern California. His work frequently touches upon socio-political subjects, making strong statements about the world.
