Large Aubusson style tapestry made circa 1920s with a scene depicting figures in tunics sitting beside a river, maybe the Nile River, a man rowing a boat, a dog, many date palms, two pyramids on a distant shore, mountains, and northeastern African architecture. This appears to be a scene in Northeastern Africa, possibly Sudan. This tapestry was most likely made in Belgium by the appearance of the geometric floral border.
Measurements are 66.5”W x 50.5”H.
The tapestry is in beautiful condition with vivid colors. The border has a lovely floral design with a five pointed star in each corner.
