A set of two framed hand-colored engraving on hand laid paper from Historiae Polyporum., by Augustus Johannes Roesen von Rosenhof, published from 1746-1761. The images included are Tab. LXXXL and Tab. lXXXIII, depicting different types of sea polyps.

August Johann Rosel von Rosenhof (1705- 1759) A German naturalist, entomologist and miniature painter. His detailed observations and artistic talent combined are illustrated in his published works on sea anemones and insects . He is often referred to as one of the fathers of German entomology.
