A delightful little antique artists brush pot used for holding scholars calligraphy brushes in days gone by in China.
White porcelain ground with finely hand painted green bamboo and a red peony, with a little brown bird looking over the scene.
This was made in the late Qing Dynasty, last quarter of the 19th Century. Guangxu Period.
Unclear red enamel stamp on underside. Neat and tidy trimmed foot with glazed base.
Acquired from the estate of a former USA senator and Florida governor Spessard Lindsey Holland.
Nowadays this can be used for a variety of things such as a vase, pen holder or simply as an ornament.
