A finely cast bronze vessel in the ancient gui form, decorated with continuous Taotie mask motifs and thunder-scroll bands. Inspired by Zhou dynasty ritual bronzes, this mid-20th-century example displays elegant symmetry and a deep brown-black patina with traces of verdigris.
Cast with twin loop handles and a flared rim, it may serve as an incense burner or sculptural accent. A refined decorative bronze that captures the gravitas of archaic Chinese design in a compact and beautifully proportioned form. Excellent condition throughout.
