Fine, elegant, and substantial, this impressive Dutch inlaid marble-top chest is exquisitely adorned with a plethora of intricate marquetry decoration incorporating splendid stringing, magnificent masks, birds, mythical griffin figures, and stunning running leaf scroll and floral ornamentation, all with ornate detail throughout. It is of the very highest quality and features a sumptuous bombe, hourglass shaped case, incurved and outcurved with molded edge above an exceptional full-width frieze drawer, over three "S" curved full-size drawers, over the fifth drawer concealed in the lower molding. All drawers having curved drawer front with dovetail joinery and wooden pulls.

Magnificent and luxurious burlwood, matched contrasting figured wood, extensively decorated with spectacular marquetry, full of character and charm the chest has fantastic deep, rich antique wood coloring and tones, sophisticated grain patterns, and beautiful, warm, rustic, gracefully aged patina. Solid and sturdy, functional providing generous amounts of storage. Very substantial in size, unique in design, with a phenomenal presence.
