Pair of andirons from the 19th century, (originals from the period).
Made in France around 1860 and constructed of bronze, each of the ornate andirons features abundant details,
On both sides highly detailed busts of elegant female goddesses, symbolizing deities or allegorical figures, adding a sense of grandeur and historical reference.
The upper part is decorated with a ball-shaped finial, supported by a structure similar to a tower with openwork decoration.
The craftsmanship shows a strong influence from the baroque or rococo periods, with their love of symmetry, gilding and ornate embellishments.
