Maralunga armchair and pouf by Vico Magistretti for Cassina.
Elegant and timeless Maralunga is perhaps one of the best-known Cassina series in the world.
It has now become an icon of Italian design.
Designed in 1973 by designer Vico Magistretti, Milanese architect and urban planner.
Produced by Cassina, an Italian company founded in 1927 in Meda, synonymous with quality and luxury, recognized throughout the world for its collaborations with the big names in design.
Winner of the coveted Compasso D'oro award in 1979, for its innovative patented design.
It owes its fame to the folding backrest, an absolute innovation for the time, born thanks to a brilliant intuition of the designer Magistretti who, observing a bicycle chain, conceived and patented the mechanism by which it is possible to fold the backrest of the Maralunga.
