The whole has a vertical structure (h. 70 cm, l. 31 cm), with a series of oval inserts in different varieties of marble and semi-precious stones, fixed with pitch. The frame, in carved wood, is characterized by an elaborate scroll motif, acanthus leaves and floral elements, and is entirely gilded in pure gold leaf. Some carvings are missing, a sign of time and use. See less
