Staffordshire dogs were first created in Victorian England in the 1800's and were reproduced during the 1900's due to their popularity. This pair is large and was made in the mid-late 1900's in Portugal. They are slightly different sizes and are obviously hand painted. These features and the chipping on the base of one, all make the pair appear older. Perfect for a Staffordshire collection or dog lover. Would look incredible on any shelf or mantle.
