Gorgeous, mid-century modern bowl made in Germany. It was designed by Gerhard Gollwitzer for KPM Berlin in 1936 and manufactured during the US occupation after World War II, between 1945 and 1949. Features a wrap-around scene of dogs and hunters on horses chasing stags. The minimalist figures are all embossed over the bisque white exterior, while the interior of the bowl is glazed. Maker's mark on the underside is the artist's stamp and includes "Made in Germany US zone." Unique piece of history that was possibly brought home by an American soldier after the occupation. Perfect for use as small item storage or decor.
