A fabulous antique French quilt dates from the late 1700s or very very early 1800s. A gorgeous textile indeed. Silk striped fabric in gold and cream! the backing is a natural cotton. Th The hand work on this textile is Gorgeous! Really a work of art There is a light cotton batting between the layers and its 100% hand stitched and hand quilted. A gorgeous textile! One of the very best silk, 18th century quilts Ive ever seen

Measurements: This lovely textile measures approx. 86 inches by approx 78 inches
Condition: This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with light storage dust. There is some small staining on this piece on the backing, and the silk is splitting in a few areas especially around the very edges. however this quilt is in astonishing condition for its age! Remarkable! I love this quilt, however its not without signs of time and use often inherent in these textile treasures
