Comparable quilts by same artist had been professionally apprised when originally made at around $4000 in today's dollars.
But even though, at that rate the maker will have earned less them minimum wage for the work due to the incredible number of hours invested into the meticulous stitching..
Generally, quilts go up in value even higher as they age.

Unfortunately much of the artist's work was lost in a 2006 building fire and due to advanced age she is not producing new work.
Fortunately this was one of very few pieces off-premises and remained untouched.
This is the first time her work is being offered for sale to the general public.

All parts, including all thread are 100% cotton.
All work done strictly by hand-stitching. No machine.

This piece has been wall-hung in one of the original artist's relative's homes since it's creation and periodically cleaned. It is in as near perfect condition as one might expect from an item of this age.
