Stunning folk art crazy quilt textile circa 1930-50, but unlike the early Victorian-era crazy quilts, this piece is especially bright and cheerful with its mix of pieces! Entirely handmade with so many different colors and interesting fabrics including velvet, wool, corduroy, rayon -- in solids as well as plaids, stripes, checks and floral prints -- an incredible assortment. All the pieces are random shaped, and are joined with a variety of different topstitched embroidery stitches in a rainbow of colors. The totality of this quilt is very rich owing to the wide variety of materials.
This piece fits across a queen size bed, as shown in photographs, and folds nicely across the foot. Would be equally nice as a sofa throw, or even as a wall hanging. Only a few fabric pieces show any wear at all--see photos. The back of the quilt is a pale gray blue satin with a few faint spots found on close inspection, nothing detracting--see photos. Clean and ready to use and enjoy!
